REMITTANCES FOR IMPORTS
APPLICATION FORMS DISTRIBUTED ADVICE TO IMPORTERS [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 20. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand announces that in order to provide in as satisfatory a manner as possible for the requirements of the Dominion, forms of .ampliation for remittances in payment for licensed imports are being distributed to the trading banks throughout the country. Importers desiring to remit in respect of imports licensed for the first or second half of the current year should, therefore, make the necessity application for overseas funds through their bankers on the form provided for the purpose In order that tin; importers concerned may not be involved in unnecessary delay in completing their arrangements, the applications should he submitted at the earliest possible moment, and in no case later than Wednesday, August 2, 1939, except where the relative import licenses have not been received by that date. Applications for remittances for purposes other than payment for licensed imports will continue to be received as hitherto, but the holders of unused or partially-used permits who desire to remit are requested to arrange with their bankers for the relative forms to be submitted to the Reserve Bank in order that the approximate dates when such remittances can be provided may as far as possible be decided.
It is understood that arrangements have been made for the forms to be available by the beginning of next week even at tin* more distant brandies of the trading banks.
