BUSH BEATS POVERTY BAY [Per United I’kess Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, July 18. In a representative mtrtch at Pahiatua this afternoon Bush Districts defeated Poverty Bay by 14 points to 6 after an uneventful game. The Bush forwards, though lighter, were superior in the lotfse. The Poverty Bay backs handled better, but the greasy ball made passing uncertain. Mr E. M'Kensie. sole selector for the New Zealand Union, was present at the match. PRIMARY SCHOOLS' MATCHES All primary schools matches for today were postponed on account of the state of the grounds. The first representative trial match will be held at Hancock Park tomorrow afternoon at 3.15, instead of at Montccillo as previously arranged.
