SCOTTISH DAY
SOUTH DUNEDIN COMMUNITY SING
The skirl of the pipes, the colour of gay tartans, and the infectious liveliness of old Scottish songs attracted another packed house to the Mayfair Theatre today, when the South Dunedin Comniunity Sing held a special “ Scots day.” The three leaders—Dr Noel North, Mr “ Whang ” M'Kenzie, and Mrs E. Cameron—were in fine form, and the , latter pair were attired in kilts, thus lending the true flavour to the occasion. One and all entered wholeheartedly into the spirit of things, and . the sing was voted an outstanding success. Champion boy piper Airdree Stewart made Scottish blood run riot with his splendid playing, while another attraction was provided by the boy tapdancing wonder, Billy Shaw, his items being vociferously received. Another gratifying response to the appeal for financial support was received, the collection amounting to £2o, with the possibility of fuirfhei sums coming in.
