FUNGIC FREAK.—It really didn’t need the two boys to hold this queer-looking mass since it weighs about 6oz, but they share honours in its discovery. It is a specimen of that variety of fungus known as an ordinary puffball, but it is of extraordinary size. It was found in a paddock in Kaikorai Valley.
