QUEEN CARNIVAL AT SOUTH DUNEDIN

Encouraging support was last night accorded the carnival opened in the South Dunedin Town Hall under the auspices of the local branch of the New Zealand Labour Party. Side shows, guessing competitions, and musical items were the features of the evening. The Hon. Mr F. Jones performed the opening ceremony. Tq-night and tomorrow the carnival will be continued, special attractions being provided for to-morrow afternoon, particulars of which are advertised.
