SYDNEY TEAM WINS FIRST HATCH [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 9. The Eastern Suburbs Rugby League .team, which is. augmented by several players from other Sydney clubs, played its first match at Gar law Park yesterday ; afternoon arid defeated Marist, last season’s champions, by 22 points to 9. The visitors scored four tries, converting three,’ and kicked two penalty goals. Marist scored three tries. Suburbs led by 7 points to 6. at half-time, but the second spell lost a lot of interest when a Marist forward was ordered off. The visitors then gained the upper hand. Neither side showed much combination, the advantage in Ahis respect being held by Suburbs. The defence of both sides was good in the first spell. ,
