HOME-MADE JAMS AND JELLIES. Owing to the excessive rains the fruits have absorbed too much water through the root systems. Therefore boil longer until the jam comes to the usual consistency. And just prior to bottling add a quart bottle of Thomsons’ Pure. Fruit Juices thoroughly stirred in. In red jam use Loganberry, in light-coloured amber jams use Lemon. IN order to have the ‘ Star ’ out in good time it is found impossible to classify Advertisements that come in after noon. We would therefore request Advertisers to kindly bear this in mind and send in their orders early.
