AUCKLAND MEETING ELLERSLIE TRACK WORK [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, January 26. The weather and track _ conditions were perfect at Ellerslie this morning for the final gallops for the Auckland Racing Club’s Midsummer Meeting on Saturday. The course proper, on which the poles were out sft, and the tan track were in most demand. On the course proper Chelandry, Gold Money, and Bronze Emerald opened proceedings, running half a mile ln 50sec, the first furlong in 12 l-ssec. Chelandry was in front at the finish. Silver Quex completed five furlongs in Imin 4 2-ssec, the last half-mile taking 51sec. Bonny Belle, after taking 13sec for the first furlong, completed four furlongs in smin 0 4-ssec. Hitting out freely, Galloping Acre ran five furlongs in Imin 4 l-ssec, the last half-mile taking 51sec. The Takapuna Cup candidate Respectful traversed a round in 2mm 5 2-ssec, the first seven furlongs in 1 rain 32 2-ssec, and the final half-mile in 53sec. It was a good trial. Bronze King took 57sec for his last half-mile. He was wide out. The youngsters, Classic and La Vie, reeled off half a mile in 49 3-ssec, the best of the morning, the first furlong in 12sec. Classic, who was on the inside, was in front at the post. Orient Dawn was allotted a similar task, taking 51 3-ssec. Over the same ground The Trimmer was going comfortably to register 51 l-ssec. Knight of Australia ran a round in lmin 56 2-ssec, the last six furlongs taking lmin 22 l-ssec. Spinning Wheel had a bit in_ reserve throughout six furlongs, run in lmin 22 3-ssec, the last half-mile being covered in 54 2-ssec. Ringshot and Royal Message got to the end' of five furlongs in lmin 9 4-ssec, the last half-mile taking 53sec. Royal Message finished in front. Marheke was going comfortably while traversing five furlongs in lmin 8 4-ssec, the last half-mile taking 54sec. Hawthorn and Baldric were together several lengths in front of Hopalong at the end of a round in lmin 58 2-ssec, the last six furlongs taking lmin 25 2-ssec.
