PLEASANT CONDITIONS
CALL OF THE SURF NEED FOR CARE ON BEACHES More pleasant conditions have prevailed for surf bathing throughout the present week, and the temperature of the water at the local beaches is quite mild. At St. Kilda and St. Clair, however, special care is necessary by bathers, who are warned to keep between the flags. The St. Clair beach is in excellent order, but there is a very nasty rip along the channel towards St. Kilda-. The beach at St. Kilda is also in fair order, but a' few holes close to the shore stress the need for due care. The beach at Tomahawk is in good order, and there is a light to moderate sea.
