SCOUT NOTES

HEADQUARTERS. In connection with the safety week campaign, a procession is to be held and all Scout troops are asked to cooperate. All troops are to send a patrol, arid, if possible, to equip it with an appropriate slogan, for which prizes will be awarded. Patrols are requested to assemble at 6.45 p.m. on Friday, December 9, at the Queens Gardens.Entries for the pathfinder’s badge examination, to be held at H.Q on. Wednesday ; December 7, at 7 p.iq., will be received until Monday nest. GROUP REPORTS. Roslyn.—On Friday last, a buSy and enjoyable evening was spent. Signalling was practised en masse, and later Mr Moir, boxing instructor, spent some time with his class. Arrangements were put in hand for the forthcoming bike-hike to the Lakes District S-ous F. Doidge has been promoted to pis-trol-leader of the Bellbirds, and Scous M'Dermid has passed his second class. A meeting of tne court of honour concluded the evening. Ravensboume.—A muster of Scouts prepared for inspection on Friday. Badge work was soon put under way in the respective patrpl corner*. The membership now stands at SO boys, and it is soon hoped to increase that number. All are very keen to gain their badges. _ The Panthers again annexed the shield. Mohican Cub Pack.—Twelve cubs answered Akela’s call, and alter an exciting game, tender'pad and star work was proceeded with. Ihe pack is making good progress. After another game the evening concluded with the Grand Howl. Kensington.—After flag-break on. Thursday a warming game was played; A patrol was then given a dispatch to deliver to a certain spot, and anoihec patrol set off to prevent it doing so. This competition proved very pop ar. A competitive peanut hunt was also held and points were allotted for bis. The leaders then instructed theii patrols in their respective corners.- ’ Dunback.—The troop is making g<> -1 progress. Seven Scouts have obi- T their ambulance badge, while other proficiency badges are being eagerly worker! for. Three of the younger members of the troop are busy working for their second-class badge. Under the supervision of Scouter Glover several members of tbs Pioneering team practised bridge building for the forthcoming concert.
