AUSTRALIA TO ADMIT 15,000 IN THREE YEARS ADEQUATE SAFEGUARDS PROVIDED Press Association—By Telegraph—Coypnghi CANBERRA, December 1. The Commonwealth Government has decided to admit 15,000 European refugees over three years. Only those classes whose entry would not disturb existing labour conditions and individuals with capital and experience to establish and develop industries will be given special consideration. Legislation is being introduced in the Senate immediately containing drastic provisions for the registration of aliens in Australia. PALESTINE'S OFFER TO TAKE 10,000 CHILDREN. LONDON, December 1. • (Received December 2, at 2 p.m.) Following Palestine’s offer to absorb 10,000 child refugees a census is being taken in the all-Jewish city of Tel Aviv of available homes, over 1,000 of which are already registered. It is expected that homes will be ready throughout Palestine within a week. The Northern Rhodesian Parliament agreed to admit refugees eventually totalling 150. The Dutch Premier, Dr Colijn, suggested a collection throughout Holland for refugees, of whom 4,000 have already entered and hundreds are still crossing the frontier. Three hundred children have left Germany for Harwich, where they will camp until they can be absorbed into charitable homes.
