" HUMANITY SAVED FROM TRAGIC TRIAL" MUSSOLINI’S PART IN CZECH CRISIS (Independent Cable Service.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyriglu ROME, December 1. Count Ciano revealed for the first time that during the Czech crisis Signor Mussolini informed Herr Hitler that in the event of a general war Italy would aid Germany, as she would feel herself menaced. Referring to Mr Chamberlain’s appeal to Signor Mussolini to intervene in the Czech crisis Count Ciano said II Duce immediately telephoned the Italian Ambassador in Berlin instructing him to tell Herr Hiter that Signor Mussolini advised him to delay fqr 24 hours. “ That telephone message saved humanity from a tragic trial,” he said.
