CLOUDY AND WARM MIST OR FOG PROBABLE The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the south* era districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, River* » ton, Orepuki, Half moon Bay;— Pressure is still relatively high over northern New Zealand, but has fallen at Chatham Island and is now falling in the south. A depression covers the Tasman sea. Forecast: North-easterly winds prevailing along the, coast and north-westerly inland, light to moderate, but freshening. Weather cloudy, and warm with mist or fog probable and scatered rains in western districts. Seas slight to moderate, but later rising in the south. LOCAL CONDITIONS. Unsettled weather was the rule this morning, after a mild night. ' Early this morning, there were light showers of drizzling rain. Although temperatures were mild during the latter part' of .the morning, there was a fresh! north-easterly breeze. A heavy mist hung overhead, and it did not appear likely that there would be much change in conditions during the afternoon. Barometric pressure in the city at 1 p.m. was steady at 29.85 in, while at the Gardens at this time the respective maximum-minimum thermometer registrations ; from 9 o’clock this morning were 62 and 56.5 deg, as compared with the 24-hour recordings of 64.5 and 53.5 deg yesterday from 9 a.m. OTHER CENTRES.
