LOCAL MARKET BUTTER
HIGHER PRICE TO RETAILERS CONFORMITY WITH EXPORT GUARANTEE [Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 30. In accordance with the procedure to ensure a like return to the dairy farmer for butter sold on the local market as is realised by the sale of butter to the Government for export, the Minister ot Marketing (Mr Nash) announced this evening that as from to-morrow the price of first-grade patted creamery butter to shopkeepers would be Is 4.Jd per Ih. There would be corresponding adjustments for other grades of butter. '* This price," the Minister said, “ will ensure the actual recovery from the consumer by the department of the amount paid to* the dairy farmer in accord with the price guaranteed for the current season. The allowance to the wholesaler for distribution will remain the same. A ‘ Gazette ' notice fixing these -puces will be published to-mor-row."
