['From Our Oamaru Correspondent.] LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Oamani Little theatre Society. The annual report stated that 11 three aet and 16 one act plays were read at the fortnightly meetings. The three-aet play, ‘ Love From a Stranger,’ by Drank Vospcr, was produced in the Opera House on May 2S with success, and later in the Town Hall, Dunedin, at the ol the Dunedin Repertory Society. Two one act plays were produced publicly during the year. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr A. F. Woodgate; secretary, Miss A. Butterfield; committee — Mrs R. A. M‘Dowell, Miss C. Lane, Mr K. C. M‘Donald, and Dr Scotter; auditor, Mr T. H. Hendra. KENNEL CLUB. A successful year is recorded in tho annual report of the North Otago Kennel Club. In entries and quality of the exhibits the annual show was an outstanding success, but bad weather affected the attendance. The two ribbon parades held did not receive the support expected. The Hartlea Kennels (Dunedin) were thanked for presenting the ribbon for the best on parade on each occasion. The club s financial position had improved. ENDEAVOUR LODGE. At the annua! meeting of the Endeavour Lodge, U.A.0.D., the follow ing officers were elected: —Arch Druid*, Bro. J. Hamilton; vice arch, Bro. J. Robinson; 1.G., Bro. H, Huteheon; 0.G., Bro. J. Several boys came before the Children’s Court at Oamaru yesterday for throwing stones and breaking windows. They were admonished, and the court intimated that further cases would be dealt with drastically. GENERAL. At the Oamaru Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., gave judgment by default for plaintiff in the civil claim, Maude Bros. Ltd. v. J. E. Scott, £2 7s lOd, and costs (£1 8s fid). Four permits for buildings, valued at £BBI, were issued by the Oamaru Borough Council during November. There were only three competitors in the 50 yards breaststroke race in the vice-president’s cup series of the Oamaru Swimming Club last night, the result being:—R. Brown 1. 0. Davies 2, S. Cradock 3. Time, 43sec. FLOWER SHOW. Owing to the wet weather the standard of the exhibits at the North Otago Horticultural Society’s Summer Show was not quite up to that of recent years; but, despite the adverse circumstances, the display was remarkably good, the roses, in particular, being excellent. Mrs R. K. Ireland showed the champion rose, a “ Puck.” The Redcastle Cup for cut flowers was won by Miss W. Slater. Mrs Bartley exhibited the champion pansy. Mrs F. Jones won the Mabel Sutton Memorial Cup in the decorative rose classes, and the society’s cup went to the Waiareka Women’s Institute for its exhibit of seasonal flowers. Mr W. J.’D. Millie won the vegetable cup. Mr G. S. Jones took all the awards for pot plants. The principal winners were as follows;
