DR SGHUSGHNIGG'S FATE DISCUSSED PURGE OF LOCAL NAZIS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, November 29. The Vienna correspondent of ‘ The Times ’ says Herr Hitler arrived secretly on November 26 to discuss the release of Dr Schuschnigg, who, it is understood. was offered freedom for himself, his wife, and his son, and permission to leave the country, hut refused unless a number of his associates were granted an amnesty. The correspondent adds; “It has been learned from a most trustworthy source that there has been an extensive purge of local Nazis, in which 135 were recently shot.”
