NATURALISTS' FIELD CLUB
The members of tho above club recently went by bus to Pigeon Flat, where they spent the afternoon in collecting fungi and other specimens of botanical interest on the fringes of the bush. The clematis was in full bloom, while filmy ferns and orchids were pentiful in the hush. Last Saturday a large party went by bus to Papanui Inlet, 0 where all found a good field for botanical observation in the bogs and low-lying grasslands, as well as in the bush, on the Rock Pyramid overlooking the inlet, and on tho beach itself. Many of the more common native plants were seen, while rather tare plants noted were a small veronica and a forget-me-not, Myosotis pygmeea.
