H.M.S. ACHILLES. After marching up Queen street, Auckland, to the Town Hall this afternoon, the officers and men of H.M.S. Achilles were tendered a civic farewell by the mayor, ‘■or Ernest Davis, and a large gathering of citizens. The cruiser will leave Auckland on Friday morning for England to be refitted, and will return to New Zealand next year. It is anticipated that its company will then largely consist of New Zealand ratings. The officers and most of the Imperial ratings will be transferred to other ships.—Press Association. THE CALPFKXIA’S MAILS. LONDON. November 29.—1 tis officially stated that the Calpunda was carrying all the Australian and part of the New Zealand letter mail posted on November 23 and all New Zealand letter mail posted on November 21. Captain Attwood's body was found under the wreckage.
