H.M.S. ACHILLES. After marching up Queen street, Auckland, to the Town Hall this afternoon, the officers and men of H.M.S. Achilles were tendered a civic farewell by the mayor, ‘■or Ernest Davis, and a large gathering of citizens. The cruiser will leave Auckland on Friday morning for England to be refitted, and will return to New Zealand next year. It is anticipated that its company will then largely consist of New Zealand ratings. The officers and most of the Imperial ratings will be transferred to other ships.—Press Association.
