REPERTORY SUPPER PARTY

The committee of the Dunedin Repertory Society entertained the cast of ‘ Tho Late Christopher Bean ’ and ttiose who had in any way helped in the production, at a very enjoyable supper party in the Savoy Lounge on Saturday evening after the final presentation of the play. Mr G. Z. Lindley, speaking on behalf of the committee, expressed the society’s thanks to all who had taken part in the performance and all who had worked in the theatre to make the season a success. He paid a particular tribute to the work of M iss Ngaio Marsh as producer, and concluded with a welcome to tho president (Mrs R. Hudson) after her tour abroad. Miss Marsh, returning thanks, said she had been greatly impressed by the work of the cast, many of whom she understood were making their first appearance in a major production. It had been a pleasure to work with them. Mrs Hudson said she had been very glad to get back in time to see another Repertory Society production, and was very grateful for

the welcome extended to her. She also gave an interesting talk on theatre and plays she had seen while abroad. Among those present wore Mesdaines Wakefield Holmes, E. T. Aloller, A. A. Fairbairn, D.
