SAILING CHAMPIONSHIP
THE EIGHTEEN-FOOTER RACE A HITCH OCCURS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, November 29. (Received November 30, at 8 a.rn.) Doubts whether the 18-footer sailing championship can be contested at Auckland in February were expressed at tonight’s meeting of the New South Wales IS-footers’ League owing to the Brisbane Club objecting on the ground that a clause in the race conditions proscribes that the championship shall be sailed-at intervals of not less than two years. It was decided to reopen the matter with the Queensland Club in an endeavour to induce it to waive its objection. as arrangements had already been made for local competitors .to make the trip to New Zealand.
