SAND LACKING.—The beach at St. Clair is in very poor condition as regards sand quantity at present, local residents stating it to be at the lowest level they have known. Rocks project above the sand along the full extent of the esplanade, and provide an awkward obstruction for those desiring to get on to the beach, including members of the Surf Club, who are required to carry their surf boat across them from the bottom of the, steps. A continuation of these steps or a ramp leading to the sand is needed.
