LABOUR UNREST
GROWING IN FRANCE SHORT GENERAL STRIKE DECIDED ON Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, November 23. The General Confederation of Trades Unions decided on a short general strike, the date of which will be fixed on November 25. Fifteen thousand metal workers at Lille are expected to join the Valenciennes strikers. The unrest is growing among miners, and protest meetings will bo hold throughout the country on November 26. STRIKE IN DENAIN REGION VALENCIENNES, November 24. (Received November 25, at 8 a.m.) Fourteen thousand in the Denain region have struck. TROUBLE EXTENDING I PARIS, November 24. (Received November 25, at 10 a.m.) The strikes are extending, including 4,000 miners in the Anzin Basin. The strikers now total 39,000. The police have been reinforced to evacuate the workers.
