TOWN HALL DANCE
A la Mode dance had its introduction to Dunedin last Saturday night, when, at the Main Town Hall, a largo crowd participated in a competition for which valuable prizes were presented. The' new dance, which was arranged entirely by the organiser of the dance (Mr J. Brown), proved very popular with patrons, all of whom had an equal chance of winning the prizes. The ladies’ prize was a silver coifee set, valued at £7 10s, and the gentlemen’s an order for 2gs. This week the dance! will again be held in the Main Town Hall, when A la Mode will again be on the programme, and valuable prizes will' be awarded the winners. Another feature of the evening will be the appearance of Miss Winnie Pile, playing with Mr Alex. Swann’s band of eight players, and the vocalist, Mr James M'Farlane. Miss Pile plays the pianoaccordion, and in addition is a good vocalist.
