We understand that a dentist ivho volunteered to umpire in a village cricket match came in for a lot of adverse criticism on account of his undue eagerness to draw stumps. A bald-headed professor, reproving a youth for the exercise of his fists, said very severely: “We fight with our heads at this college.” The young man reflected a moment, and then replied: “ Ah, .I see; and you have butted all your hair off.” . _
