The fifth annual report of the London Passenger Transport Board, covering buses, trams, and underground trains, shows that since the inception of the board traffic receipts have risen by 13.3 per cent, to £30,758,000. In the same period there has been a considerable increase in expenditure, wages alone having advanced 16,1 per cent, to £16,705,000 last year. The year’s total working expenses are up by 15.5 at £24.923,000, The number of passenger journeys originating on the board’s system in .1937, was over 3,723,000,000.
