WOMEN TENNIS STARS
AMERICAN TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA American women tennis stars, Misses Alice Marble jpid Dorothy Buudy, may visit Australia this season. The Australian Lawn Tennis Association is awaiting a reply from the American body to its invitation (says an Australian paper). If Miss Bundy cannot come another ranked player is wanted. The visitors should prove an attraction. Miss Marble has never played in Australia. During the current season overseas the blon3e American star has been prominent in every major tournament. Miss Bundy played in Australia last summer with Miss Dorothy Workman. She won the Australian women’s singles title. . , , There will be no visit by any American men. Bobby Riggs was available, but it was difficult to find a team mate of the necessary standard. Women s matches will occupy much of the limelight this season.
