OLYMPIC REP. TO APPEAR
FISHER'S PROFESSIONAL DEBUT Norman Fisher, who represented New Zealand at the Olympic Games in 193 G at Berlin, is to make his professional debut in Dunedin next Wednesday night in opposition to Norman Jenkin, the Oamarn welter-weight. Fisher is no stranger here, for he won the New Zealand amateur light-weight championship and the Jamieson Bolt when the Dominion championships were decided here in 1935. His fast and clever boxing and his hard hitting delighted the spectators on that occasion and with the_ experience he has gained since then his appearance next week should share interest with the main attraction. Fisher was working out in Christchurch last week with George Allen, who was beaten by Johnny Foster, and according to reports he is in groat shape. Norman Jenkin is also a smart boxer, but ho will need to be at his very best to cope with the speedy Olympic rep. The Fishor-Jenkin bout will be over 10 three-minute rounds, and the return bout between Vic. Caltaux and Johnny Foster, which will be the big attraction ■_ of the evening, will be decided over 12 threeminute rounds. Caltaux is one up on Foster, but the Canadian will he right out to reverse the position on Wednesday, and those who saw the men going the first time reckon he has every chance of doing so. Foster was short of work when he last met Caltaux, and even then he had the tough Aucklander on the floor, and their return should be productive of fireworks. Foster is one of the most gentlemanly boxers to visit Dunedin, and both in and out of the ring has made many friends who will be keen to see him in action again.
