BANKS PENINSULA MEETING The spring mooting of the Banks Peninsula Pacing Club to be held tomorrow will have the additional interest of a number of horses engaged in both the New Zealand Cup and Stewards’ Handicap being engaged. The course at Motukarara is a good level mile and a-quarter circuit, and the club has secured big fields in all the events. In the J. F. Buchanan Handicap. Willie Win, Argentic. Padishah, Malagigi, Polity, Mungatoon, Cape {laho. Happy Night, and Rousseau are the New Zealand Cup candidates, and the distance of to-morrow’s race, mile and a-qnarter, i,s likely to suit most of these better than two miles. Of the others. Last Refrain ran well at Core, Dictate at Treutham. and Rousseau won at the North Canterbury meeting. The open sprint race, the Le Bons Handicap, will be decided over seven furlongs, and the field includes the following in the Stewards’ Handicap:— Paper Slipper. Cocksure. Kilrohe. Nightcalm, Second Innings, Lady Leigh, and Golden Chest. A win in this race would not incur a penalty in the big sprint race at Riecartou.
