ROLL OF NOTES DROPPED THEFT CHARGE AGAINST WATERSIDES [Pea United Pa ess Association.; NEW PLYMOUTH, October 26. Allegations that he picked up a roll of notes worth £173 from the floor of the Waterside Workers’ Hall at New Plymouth were made against William Henry Moseley, aged 30 years, a married waterside worker, when he was charged in the Police Court to-day with theft. The hearing of evidence was not completed when the court rose. Moseley was admitted to bail in his own recognisance of £IOO, to appear again on Friday. Waterside workers who had not received a call assembled in the hall at the port on. the morning of Saturday, October 1, and, according to witnesses, some of them played a game known as “ spinning the top.” Among those who took part was John Edward Shore, and it was ho who dropped the notes. Two of those, present said to-day that they saw Moseley pick them up and put them in his pocket.
