GOOD TEMPLARY
The Rescue Lodge, No. 105. met on Tuesday evening in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Xing Edward street, when Bro. W. J. M'Curdy, Chief Templar, presided over a largo attendance. The Chief Templar, on behalf of the lodge, expressed pleasure at the recovery from illness of several members. An encouraging report from the superintendent of juvenile work showed that the attendance was improving, and that further additions were being made to the membership. Tho superintendent also extended greetings from Bro. Ered Shakespeare, of H.M.S. Achilles. The question of augmenting tho lodge funds and ‘also raising funds for tho Grand Lodge Reception Committee was considered, and the lodge decided to hold a queen carnival, the candidates for tho competition to be selected from members of the Juvenile Temple. A committee was appointed to control the competition. The Star of the South Juvenile Temple met tho same evening, Bro. Brooks, superintendent, being in charge and Sister B. Marshall, Chief Templar, presiding. There was a good attendance, and one candidate was initiated. Tho election of officers for the new term was keenly contested, almost every office having to bo ballottcd for.
