Scuffle covered a mile in Imin 43 2-ssec, the first half in 50 l-ssec. Argentic and Mungatoon recorded the same, doing the first half in 51 2-ssec. Sovereign Lady and Disdain did the same ground in Imin 43 4-ssec. Defaulter strode over a mile in Imin 52sec.

Malagigi executed a useful mile in Imin 44sec, each half in 52sec. This big-framed gelding is to start at Motukarara on Saturday, and will be ridden by H. Wiggins, who is engaged for him in the Cup. Padishah and Cape Gabo covered seven furlongs in Imin 32 2-ssec. Wine Card ran a half-mile in 49 3-ssec.

My Abbey (by Myosotis from Some Abbey) ran the same distance in 50sec. Cocksure ran the best five furlongs of the morning in Imin 2sec. Rabble beat Improvident in Imin 3 2-ssec. Rex Maitland and Rebel Star took Imin 4 3-ssec, La Plata and Amoretta Imin ssec, Screamer Imin 5 3-Ssec, and Miss Bluff Imin 5 3-ssec. ) Golden Chest ran six furlongs in Imin 17 3-sseo.

Lady Middleham and Plumage each ran a half-mile in 53sec. Others were Master Hotspur and Lofty Asset (51sec), Queen Lindis and Spartan (49 2-ssec), Benevolent, Bere Regis, and West Wind (50 4-ssec), Wandarobe and Skyrina (51sec). Lady Leigh beat Rebellion over five furlongs in Imin 3 l-ssec, Romarin and Maroha took Imin _ 4 l-ssec, Nigella and Silver Lark Imin 5 l-ssec.

Roy Bun and Manetho ran six furlongs in Imin 17sec.

Dictate beat Nightcalm over the same distance in Imin 17 3-ssec; Aggravate and Miracle occupied Imin 19sec.

(Received October 27, at 11 a.rm) 1 The suggestion that the Rugby League team to tour England in 1941 should include some New Zealand players is supported by a number of local officials. Mr Miller (secretary of the New South Wales Rugby League) preferred not to comment, but admitted that it was hard to get 28 players of high standard from New South Wales and Queensland to tour. Mr Miller considers that a triangular competition between New South Wales, Queensland, and New Zealand would help the game here and in New Zealand. Mr H. Matthews (Balmain delegate to the New South _ Wales 'Rugby League) said the inclusion of Now Zealanders in the touring side would not only strengthen it, but would encourage New Zealand players.
