STATE OF THE BEACHES TEMPERATURES IMPROVING The long spell',of,warm, sunny ther has already enticed many persona to the various beaches in and around Dunedin, and those who have had their first plunge in the surf re'port-that the water, though still a trifle chill, is improving, and given, good conditions over tire week-end there should bo large crowds attracted, to the local seaside resorts. . At the present time the beach at Tomahawk is probably in better order than any of the others, and, with a smooth sea., conditions wore ideal for bathing to-day. The sand that has been washed away at St. Clair is beginning to reappear, and both at-St. Kilde and St. Clair the beach is in very 'fair order for bathing, there being an absence of rip. No flag's,have yet been placed in position ’on the beach, blit no doubt the safety zones will, bo defined over the week-end, and surfers are urged, to keep between the flags. ,
