NATIONAL CANDIDATES
TWO MORE SELECTED [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 13. A ballot to select the official National Party candidate to contest the Auckland Central seat at the forthcoming General Election was held to-night, and resulted in the selection of Mr C. R. Dodd. Tbb other nominee was Mr F. H. Hildreth. The seat is at present held by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. W. E. Parry. Mr Dodd is accountant to the Auckland branch of the firm of Messrs J. K. Mooney and Co, Ltd. He was educated at Wellington College and continued his studies in England for two years before returning to New Zealand. In 1935 he unsuccessfully contested the Auckland Central seat as a Democrat candidate. WESTPORT, September 13. At a meeting of Duller supporters of the National Party held in Westport this evening Mr T. O. Maddison, of Wellington, was tentatively chosen to contest the Duller seat at the General Election, ponding confirmation after a conference with the country committees. t
Mr Maddison is a native ,of England and is 35 years of age. He was educated at Cambridge and served his apprenticeship in the mercantile marine. He has been in New Zealand for tho last 14 years*
