SHOT THROUGH THE HEART
PEA RIFLE TRAGEDY [Per United Press Association.] CARTERTON, July 4. A shooitng fatality occurred yesterday at Parkvale, when Wembly William Goodin, aged 13, the son of Herbert Goodin, of Park road, Carterton, was shot through the heart by a pea rifle bullet. Deceased was a member of a shooting party, including Wellington boys and girls. The party divided, going up two different ridges. A Weilingtonv boy fired his rile as a signal to return for lunch, and Goodin, who was 300yds away, received the bullet in his heart, and was killed instantaneously. The inquest this morning was adjourned after evidence of identification.
