REAL ESTATE INSTITUTE
A meeting of the executive of the Real Estate Institute (Otago branch) was held yesterday Mr L. J._T. Ireland (president) being in the chair. It was reported that arrangements had been made for the regular contributions requested by the New Zealand Executive to the ‘ Real Estate ’ column of ‘ Home and Builder,’ the official organ of the New Zealand Institute of Architects. Advice was received that the revised edition of the ‘ New Zealand Land Agent’ would soon be ready, and that entries for the annual examinations conducted by the institute would close on July 31Instructions were received from the State Advances Corporation with reference to the sale of certain properties. It was decided that these particulars be circularised to members of the institute, and that any future similar instructions be notified to the members by the secretary immediately they are received. The sub-committee appointed to interview prospective new members reported seven written applications in hand, and all were recommended to the New Zealand Executive for admission. The secretary (Mr 11. Hanning) was granted three months’ leave of absence to visit the New-Hebrides.
