DRAGGED OVER LEVEL CROSSING DAMAGE KOI GREAT [Per United Press Association.] OAMARU, June. 4. The truck of a mixed train arriving at Oamaru shortly after 9 this morning, left the rails 100yds vest of Thames street, and was dragged across the. level crossing, gouging the asphalt. Fortunately no other damage was done except to a few sleepers. The engine and the first truck were on the viaduct across Oamaru Creek before the train stopped. It was the second truck that left the rails. An inspection of the permanent way revealed no fault. Had the train proceeded a chain further, there would have been a serious crash.
