3,000 JOBS
WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED SINGLE MEN [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, June 3. The Minister of Labour (Hon. H. T. Armstrong) said to-day that 3,000 jobs throughout New Zealand are to be found for unemployed single men, and arrangements are to be made almost immediately for their employment on such activities as Public Works, Lands Department, forestry, and railways. In Auckland there would be 400 jobs in the metropolitan area. These single men would have to go into camp if so required, and would be paid the standard rate of wages, hut no man would be employed unless he would give an undertaking that, if required, ho would accept farm work.
