BRITISH ENGINEERING STRIKE AVERTED DISSATISFACTION CONCERNING WAGES Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 1. (Received June 2, at 12.5 p.m.) A national strike over wages of 250.000 engineers, thousands of whom are engaged in rearmament, was averted by one vote at the annual meeting of the Amalgamated Engineering Union. The president (Mr Little) intervened in the debate three times, warning delegates against the grave decision which appeared certain. The vote against a strike was 20 to 19.
