NATIONAL PENSIONS
THE SCOPE EXTENDED PREMIER WITHHOLDS DETAILS [Special to the ‘ Star.’! AVELLINGTON, June 2. The Government’s national superannuation scheme has been extended to cover a wider scope than was shown in the details already made public. This point was confirmed by the Prime Minister, who, while declining to describe the change in detail, declared : “ When this Bill is presented to Parliament it will be in a form which will excel anything in the civilised world. That is my reply to people who say we cannot afford it. “ The plan is based on New Zealand’s production,” he added, “ and with the aid of science and invention it can never be lessened, but should be more. Unless the people get the benefit of this increased production, what is the use of it?”
