“ FINANCIAL RESOURCES ” VICTORY

LABOUR'S LEFT HANDED TRIBUTE [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON. May 13. In reference to the Wellington election results, Mr J. H. Collins, secretary of the Labour Representation Committee, said Labour wished to pay tribute to the intensive propaganda campaign ot its opponents. Had Labour had half the financial resources of its opponents the results would have been entirely different. It was obvious that a large number of Labour supporters, confident of a Labour victory, did not cast the\r votes, while their opponents polled every available vote. , „ , “On the whole, while disappointed with the result,” said Mr Collins, “ wo believe that has maintained its position, and ■ will in the not distant future have an opportunity of demonstrating to the citizens of Wellington its administrative ability in local body as well as national affairs.”
