SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS WELL-CONTESTED COMPETITIONS Following on the M'Glashan College swimming sports which were held on Tuesday, the school instituted senior and junior championship competitions, and these were held at the Municipal Baths yesterday afternoon, some good performances being registered. The senior cup contest resulted _in a tie between two promising competitors, R. Elvidge and D. Skinner each scoring S points. The former won the 50yds free style in the good time of 31 2-ssec and also the 33 l-3yds breast stroke in 28 4-ssec, while Skinner gave a good display to win the diving. He made a much improved showing to that on Tuesday, and also won the 33 l-3yds back stroke. N. Buckley, winner of the junior cup, won the' diving after a good eontest with ]D. S. Reid, and also scored in the 33 l-3yds free style and the back stroke, Reid swimming nicely to win the breast stroke event. Results : SENIOR CUR. 33 1-3 YARDS BREAST STROKE. R. Elvidge 1 C.
