CENTENARY CF MARSDEH [Pee United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, May 12. The right of Samuel Marsden to be known as the true pioneer of the Christian religion and of the Church of God in New Zealand was impressed upon a large congregation at St. Mary’s Anglican Cathedral tonight by the Primate of New Zealand, Archbishop Averill, who was the preacher at a special service held to, commemorate the centenary of the death of the founder of the Church in the Dominion. Marsden’s work for the Maoris was also given considerable attention. The Archbishop was followed into the church by a combined choir from all the Auckland parishes, and a Procession of May of the clergy of the diocese.
