In the election for the Wellington City Council the Citizens’ Association gained one seat at the expense of Labour, the representations now being: Citizens’ Association, nine members; Labour, six. A feature of the poll was the election for the first time of a woman member. Mrs Margaret Semple, wife of the Minister of Public being one of the successful candidates.
