WOMEN’S GOLF

CHISHOLM PARK CLUB A medal round was played yesterday, when the best scores were:—Mrs Greville 49—18—31, Mrs Hunt 53—17—36, Mrs L. Wright 50—13—37, Mrs Gore 56—18—38. POLO PLAYERS RETURN [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 11. The New Zealand polo teams returned from Sydney by the Wanganella to-day. With the exception of M'Kenzie, from Hawke’s Bay, all are from the Waikato, players being Nolan, G. Peake, and K. ,Peake. Altogether, with grooms and polo enthusiasts, the party numbered 22. ■ Twenty-six ponies were taken over, of which eight were sold, one was destroyed, and the other 17 were brought back. For two of these £350 each was offered in Australia, but the owners would not sell, preferring to keep them to defend the Gold Cup when the time comes, but whether that will be in centennial year (1940) has not yet been determined.
