CANADIAN WHEAT
SYSTEM OF PRODUCERS' POOLS RECOMMENDED BY ROYAL COMMISSION Press, Association —By Telegraph—Copyright OTTAWA, May 9. (Received May 10, at 1 p.m.) The Australian system of producers’ pools has been recommended for Canada by the Royal Wheat Commission, with the provision that it “ should operate overseas with trade but hot against it.” A compulsory Government pool is declared inadvisable either overseas or in Canada. Futures trading through the Winnipeg Grain Exchange is approved, and it is recommended that a permanent wheat official be sent to London. Apropos the search for new markets, the commission draws attention to ,the tariff‘adage; “We cannot sell ifAvo cannot buy.” It states that it would replace the present Government Wheat Board with an official watching Canadian developments and co-operating with the London official.
