Coxcomb, Amelita, and Galleon ran the heat mile of the morning, the distance in Imin 62sec, the first four-furlongs in 54 4-sseo and the last half-mile in 57 l-ssec.' Coxcomb and Amelita were responsible for all the pace, and just shaded Galleon, who, however, stood them up a good start in the first half-mile and then closed on them in the straight after covering a lot of extra ground. Foxlove is a lazy worker, but Mona’s Song was all at sea in the going, and she may not be a starter, on Saturday if the track is heavy.
