FORBURY PARK TROTTING CLUB.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —It is with regret that I find that the above club is adhering to the 75-25 system of wagering at its meeting this week. I for one will definitely not be 'present on this occasion, nor will dozens of others I have queried, on the subject. A large proportion of the interested public go to these meetings for a pleasant day’s outing with a. few pounds to invest on their fancies and definite hopes of at least heme able to more or less “hold their own”’ in their wagering. Under the system introduced by the Forbury Park Trotting Club some seasons ago, the moderate punter was not afraid to have numerous “ place ” bets, and occasional “ win ” bets, and he found he had an excellent chance of making ends meet. Under the 75-25 system, however, a substantial loss is in a large majority of cases a foregone conclusion, as the punter is required to pick winners outright, second horse dividends usually being of the “moneyback ” variety, or often a loss. These findings are deduced from the practical experience of myself and many of my friends, practically all of whom have decided to shy clear of Forbury Park until the betting system reverts to the proved popular Forbury system or else the straignt-out win and place system, which is equally favoured as the alternative to 75-25, place betting being so popular where the size of the field is as large as the acceptances for next Thursday indicate. Hoping the club will wake up to the wishes of the average race-goer before the following meeting, I would suggest in conclusion that the club conduct a poll of the attendance at this meeting and find out for itself that what I have said is correct I am, etc., Credit Funds.
