WHAT LABOUR HAS DONE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I received a pamphlet entitled ‘ What Labour Has Done,’ but find that it is hardly a complete record ot what Labour really has done. I know that I have had to pay an increase ot Id in the £ on the water rate, 10s a year for a hose tap, and 5s a year increase in the charge for W.C. In addition tram fares have been increased, which means another £5 a year out of my pocket. Probably many of the ratepayers are not aware of it, but the aggregate cost to them of all these increases is in the vicinity of £37,000. Labour states that this is only beginning; so the electors, and especially the ratepayers, know what to expect if this party should be returned to power. The sky will be the limit all right, and ratepayers will find this out when next they receive their rate notices. However, now is the time to stop the extravagance which has been going -on. and I trust the electors will return men capable of administering the affairs of ; this city in a fair and impartial manner, ■ and not for one class only.—
