GENERAL WAGE RATES
INCREASES IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, April 20. (Received April 21, at 11 a.m.) A Ministry of Labour survey shows, that during 1937 there was a marked rise in the general wage rates. The number of workers whose wages were increased and the total amount of the increase were greater than in any year since 1920. In all industries, including agriculture, the average level was estimated to have risen by over 4 per cent.
