WEATHER FORECAST
FINE AND LESS HUMID The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Halfmoon Bay:— Pressure has risen over the Dominion, and an anti-cyclone of moderate intensity is moving across the Tasman Sea towards the North Island., Forecast: Light to moderate north-westerly winds, later freshening. Weather mainly fair to fine, and rather less humid, but a few isolated local showers possible. Seas slight to moderate, but later rising in the strait. BRIGHT SUNSHINE AGAIN. Bright sunshine made a welcome return this morning in Dunedin, the sky being almost cloudless, while there was only a slight north-easterly ’ breeze in evidence. Midday found the maximum thermometer reading at 67.2dez and the minimum 64deg, a considerable decrease being shown on the registrations over a period of 24 hours yesterday, these having been 77.9 and SO.Sdeg respectively. Barometric pressure at noon in the city was rising at 29.85 in, a pleasant afternoon being indicated at this time. Rainfall yesterday amounted to O.lin.
